In Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey counties, our Central Coast Center provides Respite Care Services to individuals living with disabilities. Our goal is to give primary caregivers temporary relief from their daily caregiving duties, while increasing independence and autonomy for every individual we serve.

Respite Care

We provide in-home, nonmedical and temporary care to children and adults living with disabilities in the Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. Our goal is to give primary caregivers temporary relief from their daily caregiving duties while enhancing our client’s basic self-help needs such as daily living skills and social skills. Where we serve

We provide respite care services in Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey counties.

  • Is my family eligible for respite services?

    To be considered eligible, the individual's disability must have originated before the age of 18, be likely to continue indefinitely, and constitute a substantial handicap in one, three or more major life areas; intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism among others. 

  • How can my family receive respite services?

    Contact SARC. The first contact and intake interview are the initial steps of the intake process. 

  • Who provides respite care?

    Organizations like ESCC that are vendorized by SARC provide services. ESCC recruits, hires and trains staff to be respite caregivers. We prefer our staff to have health and social care experience.
