Celebrating Abilities is a Fox Cities-based project intended to increase awareness of the incredible abilities of individuals in our community, regardless of any apparent disability. The project began as a grass roots effort in 2003 and is supported and funded by a collaboration of non-profit organizations and businesses.
This year's fifth annual Celebrating Abilities project will feature week-long events held October 5-12, 2007 in Appleton, Oshkosh, and surrounding areas. The festivities will feature motivational speakers, music events, and art exhibits that showcase the incredible talents of disabled individuals both locally and nationally known. The Celebrating Abilities project is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on not only the contributions people with disabilities make to our community, but also those who help make it happen. The "A-bilities Awards" recognize these organizations, businesses, and individuals that set out to make a difference in the way people with disabilities can develop and celebrate their abilities.
